The discipleship process doesn't end with community. Church and "Christianity" were never intended as a social club. We must be the living body of Christ. We are the hands and feet of his desire to serve and heal those who are broken and estranged. We are the script of God's message of freedom, hope and redemption.
As we connect we are faced with opportunities to develop character and to recognize special gifts God has given us to complete his will in our lives. It is a natural progression for the disciple to look for opportunities to test and and then use with authority what has been entrusted. Not just wait, but actively seek out these opportunities.
Every believer is a servant. We are not spectators, but instead stewards. That word is out of favor today (as is servanthood). But stewardship - being a caretaker and getting a return on the investment for the master - is part of the discipleship process.
Have you been gifted with kindness? Maybe greeting people or helping those who are homebound is an opportunity for God to act. Do you have a talent with writing? music? language? Maybe you've been blessed with spiritual insight, discernment or wisdom? Maybe you are blessed with time, patience of resources? Or maybe God has so overwhelmed you with his grace that you can't help but share your story with God's leading.
We want to offer you opportunity to use your talents and background to advance God's kingdom. We want every follower of Jesus to receive the commendation of the Father: "Well done, good and faithful servant."
