EDGE Children’s Ministry
The E.D.G.E. Kids Ministry is devoted to empower kids to Experience and Discover God Everywhere!!
Psalm 139:7-10, James 1:22, Matthew 19:14
We understand that parents have the responsibility to teach their children God’s word, and we seek to partner with parents on this journey. Deuteronomy 6:4-9 explains the command that God gave to parents. Our ministry strives to support the parents as each child’s primary spiritual leader. We want to challenge parents to be their children’s primary teachers and offer training, mentoring, and tools needed to fulfill this role.
Base Camp 1 (Nursery) This ministry is located in the modular building on the left side of our church campus and serves children from birth to 2 years old. Our teachers are passionate about showing God’s love to our littlest friends. These little ones will experience God through songs, stories, the love and care of their teachers. They will begin the discovery process by learning the basis for our faith….God made me, God loves me and my family, and Jesus wants me to love Him.
Base Camp 2 (Preschool) This ministry is located in the modular building on the left side of our church and serves children 3-5 years old. The preschoolers will experience God through their five senses and will discover Bible truths like Jesus is God’s Son, God made me so I can think, work and play and God always does what He says He will do.
Base Camp 3 (K5-4th Grade) This ministry is located in the education building behind the sanctuary and serves school aged children. Students begin their time with us in the EDGE Worship Room where they participate in a time of worship, videos and teachings from our curriculum, The Gospel Project. Afterwards, they break into their small groups to discover ways to apply God’s truths to their lives, pray for one another, and learn how to be about their Father’s business.
NB*TWEEN (5th and 6th grade)
NB*Tween is the preteen ministry here at The Mount Church which meets every Sunday morning at 9:45 am for Bible studies designed with their age and spiritual needs in mind. We serve as a transition ministry to help guide our preteens (and their families) from the children’s ministry into Youth Ministry culture. NB*Tweeners participate in quarterly fellowship events/outings like skating, bowling and swimming. The prayers for this group is that through unique Bible studies, the preteens will develop a Biblical world view and become rooted not just in what we believe, but why it matters.
