“All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.” – Acts 2:42
Small groups are one of the primary environments for growing closer to God and others at The Mount Church. During Fall 2018, we will have 4 small groups available. Registration is open, and you can do so with one of the links below, or at the church (there should be both a console and paper sign up).
All groups will be meeting Sunday evenings at the church from 6-8, September 2nd through Nov 25th. This time will provide us not only opportunity to be in our small groups, but as a body to pray and worship.
Child Care will be provided at the church
This will be the first of a two part small group going through the book of Acts. This is a powerful book, encouraging believers to trust the role of the Spirit in their lives as Jesus' coming kingdom takes on flesh and bone in us, and helping us to see the early church in all its humanity and Spirit-filled power.

2. Sticky Faith
The second group is going to be working through the study, "Sticky Faith". Research shows that almost half of graduating high school seniors who are committed to Christ will struggle deeply with their faith during their college years. This study that offers a compelling rationale and a powerful strategy to show parents how to encourage their children’s spiritual growth so that it will stick with them into adulthood. It doesn’t matter the age or spiritual commitment of your kids, or even if you don’t have kids yet, this could be for you.

- A note from Walker:
"The Sticky Faith Guide for your Family" that we will be reading is the follow up book to "Sticky Faith". You are welcome to read both but you certainly do not need to read the first one. A lot of the content is the same + additional features geared toward families are in the one we will be following. If you wish to purchase the book, you can do so from Amazon.
Rob and I bought one book and shared it. It is an easy read, 1 chapter each week, about 10-20 pages per chapter. You may want a copy to make notes in and reference long after the small group is over but owning a copy and reading the book is not required. We will reference it often in the discussion but I can make copies of the sections as needed.
It is possible someone who attended this small group before will loan you a book. Let me know if you need a few names of people to ask.
Neither Clemson University nor Pickens County libraries have the book in their catalog.
The third group will be looking at evangelism. How can we better share our faith with our neighbors and friends? How do we bridge the gap with our culture? Each of us has a story to tell about how Christ has changed us, and every believer is called to be a voice proclaiming Christ's victory.

4. On The Way To Jesus
The fourth group will focus on the Old Testament, and how it prepares a people for the coming of Jesus. We will look at how the Law prepared and anticipated Christ. We will look at how the history of Israel leads to the message of Christ. Through the course of the study we will see the loving and merciful character of the Father, Son and Spirit - interacting with man to repair and restore.
