Text: Leviticus 9
Summary:
Our greatest problem is sin. Our greatest need is atonement. Only God can forgive sins. Therefore, our greatest hope is the atonement for sin that only God can supply. In this provision, we see His glory as God. He comes to His people. He arrives. He appears. And He acts to receive the provision He's made. In His advent, sin is forgiven. We're thus pointed to the apex of this advent, the incarnation of Him Who will save His people from our sins. A Person has been promised Who will decisively deal with sin by the sacrifice of Himself. In Him, the glory of God our Savior appears. Let it refresh our worship of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Main idea(s):

What words and/or ideas appear to be repetitive in these verses, and why? What's signified by the bodies of these sacrifices being burned outside the camp? What's the relationship between atonement for sin and the Word of God?
- In 9:22-24, after the sacrifices have been made, what does Aaron do? What's the significance of blessing the people? What about his coming down to the people? What appeared to all the people upon this priestly activity? What does God do at the bloody altar? Why is that good news for the congregation? What is their response to this advent of the glory of God?
- How does Leviticus 9 point us to the advent of Christ? And to the worship of God in Christ? And for what? And what might that worship look like in our lives?
